Project description

The Billy 1 & 2 ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants, with capacities of 4.93 MWp and 4.87 MWp respectively, are situated in the commune of Billy, in the southern part of the Loir-et-Cher département, within the Centre Val de Loire region of France. Covering an area of approximately 13.55 hectares, the project is located on a former soft limestone quarry.

The layout of the park takes into account the naturalist issues identified in the impact study. The center of the project preserves a 3-hectare environmental management zone for birds. The existing hedgerow to the north-east of the site will be preserved for nesting birds.

Ecological monitoring was conducted during the construction phase, and will continue every 3 years for a period of 20 years.

The Billy photovoltaic power plant will supply green electricity to the equivalent of 2,405 homes per year (excluding heating and hot water - source: INES
