Renner Energies - formerly known as Windvision and its subsidiary Terre & Watts Développement - has had a successful track record of developing, financing, and operating renewable energy projects that actively contribute to a low-carbon future.
Initially focused on wind power solutions in Belgium, we have expanded our geographic footprint to support new markets over the years.
We also grew our expertise and operations over time, to develop projects related to solar and energy storage solutions.
It all started in Belgium
Our company was founded in 2002 under the name Windvision. A year later, we opened our first offices in Louvain, Belgium.
In 2010, we achieved a significant milestone by commissioning our first wind park in Estinnes. The project consists of 11 turbines and, at that time, was the largest onshore wind farm constructed in Belgium. It was also the world's first wind farm of its kind in terms of power generation.
Expanding into France
Our offices in Reims, France opened in 2006.
In 2017, we proudly launched our first French wind plant in the Ardennes region.
We worked closely with a local association to implement mitigating measures that preserved the area's biodiversity. The project's value was shared with local residents, who actively participated in a crowdfunding initiative to acquire stakes in the plant.
A successful growth strategy
In 2020, Windvision was backed by a new investor: the Global Renewable Platform III operated by BlackRock.
A year later, our company further strengthened its position as a key player in renewable energy through 2 acquisitions: Vortex Energy Belgium and Terre & Watts Développement, a French developer with expertise in solar power.
We were very pleased to welcome new team members and open offices in several new locations, including Bordeaux-Mérignac, Montpellier, Rennes, and Paris in France, as well as Madrid in Spain.

New name, same mission
In June 2023, Windvision and its subsidary Terre & Watts Développement became one company: Renner Energies. The new name reflects our Company's successful expansion in solar and battery solutions.
Our mission remains the same : to make a significant contribution to the production of decarbonised and local energy.
