Project description

An agrivoltaic power plant covering an area of around 12.9 hectares and with a capacity of 7.1 MWp is being developed to the east of the village of Mailly-la-Ville, in the Yonne department (89), in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. The project, which was launched in 2022, went through the design and planning application stages between 2022 and 2023, and the application for a permit has been under review since the end of 2023.

The future solar power plant will be built on a 265-hectare cereal farm, on land with very low agronomic potential, according to an agronomic study carried out by the Yonne Chamber of Agriculture.

Particular attention has been paid to integration with existing farming activities, in order to maintain cereal production under and between the solar panels.

The project places great importance on preserving the local environment. A distance of 20 metres will be maintained from woodland to preserve the natural habitats of local species. In addition, a landscape hedge will be planted along the southern and eastern boundary of the site to minimise visual disturbance along nearby footpaths.

Ecological monitoring will be carried out over 20 years to assess the impact of the project on biodiversity and measure the effectiveness of environmental improvement measures.
